Great place for camping, fishing, boating, swimming, biking, hiking, and picnics. When we went, they had just treated the lake, so you couldn't fish, swim, boat, or let your dogs near the water. We did enjoy hiking the perimeter of the lake, and there are several other connecting trails in the area for hiking and biking. There's a great playground equipment set for the kids and a nice campground. There's something for everyone here!

Great place to swim ,or paddle board s . Or fish in the other side of swim beach ⛱️ When the lake is not full of boats. Has a great boat dock on the other side of the swim beach part. Does have covered picnic table s , and cook grills bring briquettes or shaded grass to lay underneath trees and public bathroom s , and showers in campground $$theres a cost for that. And there's a playground for the kids to dry off for awhile. Enjoy watching the water 💦 . Please pick up trash and leave before 10:00 pm . It is patroled by officers In the evening.

I wasn't sure what to expect at this Park. I have fished their many times, but never spent the night in Bookcliffs Campground. After spending a few days there at the end of September, I can honestly say that I will make this an ongoing, yearly experience! What a beautiful, mellow, secluded place! It appears to be a local secret, and I can totally see why. There's so much to do considering the activities this lake affords its visitors. Do yourself a favor and visit the website for all the details and options available. There’s something very special about seeing Eagles, Osprey, Blue Heron, Hawks and other birds almost every time I visit this park. And being able to catch Bass in this lake is a blast for the otherwise typical Trout fisherman. The staff in the Park Office and Visitor Center go above and beyond to make sure you are well informed upon your arrival. They can offer and provide you with any information or outdoor essentials you might need during your stay as well. Special thanks to Alan, Leah, Vicky and Sue for their ongoing hospitality! I hope to see you again soon!

A nice park! Some places to camp at which looked very comfy as you were on grass. Fall colors are nice and they have a swim able lake.

Camping in the off season here is glorious. I have been the only one on site for days. Fabulous trails to hike with your dog - washer/dryer/bathroom and hot showers too. No electrical hook ups but there is access to water. Not bad for $21/night. Note that in addition to the nightly price, you have to either have a daily park pass or annual. It’s also a bird watcher paradise. I’ve seen red tailed hawks, bald eagles and so many owls (keep a close eye on your small dogs). The office is y always open but when it is, the staff is beyond helpful. Got my Colorado State Park pass and will be coming back here again and again!

Nice campground. Level gravel sites. Nice bike paths around the lake. Camping is a bit overpriced at $38 compared to other CO state parks because there are no hookups. Stayed in a class c motorhome.

Great State Park with boating, fishing, swimming and hiking. Lots of shade with picnic tables near beach. Also covered tables on hiking trails available. We did not camp (dry camping) but th CG looked well maintained like the rest of the park. Dogs allowed on trails and in lake (not at beach).
